What are these Chinese spams??

i was curious what these Chinese spam threads in here are.. so I ran through google translate.

It seems like these are some Chinese school information.. it has emergency contacts for the headmaster(?), has bachelors and master degree info, and looks like it is a copy & paste from a Chinese school brochure. What...???

Why are these people pasting a Chinese school information in Chinese? Most people here wont understand a word of it... and what is the purpose of copying and pasting a school brochure? Not like anyone is going to translate it, get sold on the marketing, fly to China, then and attend the school for a Chinese degree..
 
The Chinese spam is Chinese spam. Spam. In Chinese. Who gives a rat's ass what it's about?
 
Its the digital equivalent of stuffing fliers in mailboxes, as long as the quota gets met, no one cares.
 
Honestly, I'm surprised we don't get more of this type of spam bomb. Another forum I frequent gets these pretty much nightly. They also get "love guru" spam from India. All at about the same time of night/early morning (for us in the Americas).
 
In order to create an account don't they have to pass the bot captcha test? It's been awhile since I created an account, I don't remember.
 
almost 3 pages worth.......frustrating clean up task for the mods.
 
It is just a bot, I would just ignore. On all of the forum/websites I've ran they've all at least once had spams bots like this. At least this one is about schools, and not illegal material like many of them. I've had this exact bot a few times myself, just ban IP & delete threads then move on :P

Seriously though, don't click on the links and try to ignore them until a mod can clean them all up.

It happens almost on a daily basis. The mods do a great job cleaning it up. If you click on the members box at the top of the page, it has a drop down menu that lets you see the banned members. That will give you an idea on the amount of spam this site gets daily.

The intention is to get the posts picked up and indexed by the various Google/Bing/Yahoo/Yandex search engines. Chinese-speaking people search the Internet using the Chinese language and characters (you can too) and so the search results would have meaning to them. BF is nothing more than a way to get the information indexed by Google. We are not the target audience.

At some point, a mod will come by and ban the account and nuke the posts.
