What are you looking for at Blade?

I'll be looking at stag handled fixed blades, maybe I'll pick up a few more Murray Carters cooking knives, I'll also have an eye out for a custom folder.
With my limited budget I'll have to be careful.

When I go NEXT YEAR :(, I'll be looking for knives on my want list first, maybe commission some customs. I would really like to go this year.

Hi Tom, So I'll be seeing you again this year. Bringing the little woman? Please, stop by Peter Atwood's table to say Hi, I'll be helping him at his table.

This year I'll be looking for a folder w/ damascus and wood or ivory, or just a reg folder from a great maker, another Murray Carter, and handle and blade material.

Anything by Vince Evans!!! It'd be nice if he had a medievel hand and a halfer there but I'm guessing it won't happen this year. :(

I'll be wanting a couple knives to take with on my fall trip to the sandbox. Kershaw will have a few new offerings on display, as wil the other big lables. No customs for me, I'm afraid. There's no point taking anything pricy.

Does the Blade Show move around, or is it always in the same place? Is it the SuperBowl of Blades or just one of several similar supershows?

Blade show IS the Superbowl of knives.
I'll try to take pics...but honestly they aren't going to be my highest priority. :D

Blade is definitely THE show to go to. The show is way too big to try and photograph some of everything. Even when viewing pics of smaller shows on forums, they often end up taking pictures of only things they were interested, a lot of times when I see pictures of a show that I was at, I remember little of anything that they photographed. Of course, they are usually tactical or balisong guys, and I usually ignore such knives.

Al Pendray Bowie, Lignum Vitae Handle-If he has it, I do my happy dance, and it made the trip from SoCal worthwhile, if not, I do my sad dance, and everyone makes fun of me.

Burt Foster Fighter

W.D. Pease Folder

John W. Smith Folder

Jerome Anders Dagger

If I get lucky, Dan Farr might have something that I can take home with me, fighting with everyone else to get one of his knives.

And....maybe a TOPS/Rinaldi Armageddon.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Steven, if you're dancing in the ailes at a knife show people are gonna laugh no matter what. :D
And I'm sure the trip will be worth it even if you don't get everything you're after.

You got your eyes on some great knives there.

I'll have to miss this year. :grumpy:

If I were going I would be looking for friends I have met on the forums.

I'm going to be picking up a Hinderer Firetac Extreme with bowie blade and koa wood insert. Had this on order since the first of the year with intention of picking it up at BLADE. It really makes a nicer trip knowing you've got a killer piece already there and that you do not have to be in a hurry!!
