What are you buying with your tax return?

It's that time of year and I'm just curious if any of you guys have any special items on your "to purchase" list. I've been pretty busy lately buying new gear so my wife has me on a short leash. I just got a Camelbak Talon which I really like. I want to pick up a Becker Necker just for fun. :D I also want to get a new sleeping pad. I've been looking at the Therm-a-rest pads. They seem to have some really small light weight ones (Prolite 4 small). I also wish I could get a Wiggy's sleeping bag. I'd like to start out with the overbag and add to it later on down the road.

So if you're a gear-head like me, let me know what you have your eye on!

I'm on a real short leash for awhile. The wife received our return last month and bought herself a long awaited and much needed/deserved new vehicle. ;) Nope, it wasn't a 4x4. :( But it does average almost 30mpg. :)

The good news for me is a pardner of mine gave me a 900 Puma Earl lockback knife that's in near mint condition. :D

Hey, I am kinda new to the forum so I hope you dont mind me jumpin into your group here. I am in the same situation as Longbow, but I have been overseas all of this year (tax free) so I am buying a Rofer Linger WSK.

I'm thinking a hamburger with a small fry and some water... Raid the ketchup and napkin stash...

Didnt get much of one back! :D

  tax refund? I suppose that having to write a check to the IRS means I made more money than expected this year, but it still sucks.

Out of the $9500 return, $600 goes to my accountant, $300 on the motorcycle, $300 for a Terri-Poo(dog) $400 for Modified Stone for the driveway, $800 for a new trumpet for my daughter, $1000 to pay off a loan from a friend, $2000 to get caught up on bills, leaving $4100 for my financial advisor to distribute where needed, oh yea don't forget the undisclosed amount for my next custom folder, David Winston Pocket Pal. :)

Used part to pay for property taxes, and part for the wife and my trip to Spain and Portugal in May. Her idea to go to the coast of Spain while I thought "European beaches. Hmm. Bust I mean must remind myself to bring extra sunglasses and small digital camera" hehehehehehe :D :D :D

no refund for this guy either :( but i am looking at a snugpak sleeping bag anyway. any suggestions on these?

I wasn't getting enough taken out of my paycheck, so it's more a matter of what I WON'T be getting :(. I went to HR and got it fixed, hopefully I'll have a healthy one next April! Then it's Sebenza, Randall, Strider and custom time! Either that or a down payment on a Chevrolet Silverado.

I did pick up a few things to include a Spyderco Endura with 50/50 edge on it and I like it more than I thought I would.

I don't like to loan the Gov. interest free money. I try to "zero out" each year or owe them money. So I won't be getting anything as I held on to my money myself. :)

I bought a new set of Golf Clubs and some Fishing gear real fast before I could reconsider. I hate it when the "sensible me" rears its ugly head. The Fishing gear was really only replentishing supplies. Going to start chasing Walleye this Saturday. Steelhead fishing was lousy this year...numbers are way down, but Walleye and Bass looks real good. :)

oh yeah!

I want a cheap utility trailer. Going to make a "camper" out of my old truck topper.
