what are your thoughts about using a diamond sharpener for HI khuks?

i want my khuk scary sharp... my bro has a cheap CS khuk that is scary sharp... he sharpenned it on a diamond sharponer.

i know if i do this.. it will ruin the hand made edge in return for a perfect machined one... but anyone here have some more insight?

i just cant seem to be able to these things scary sharp.. sure they are sharp... but not as sharp as the machined diamond sharpenned edges

Stef-- I've used one of those cheap eze-lap stones you can get at Wal-Mart for around 5 dollars. It works great. Gives a nice tooth edge that still shaves hair easily. Just go slowly and watch the edge bevel as you sharpen.

I've used my DMY Duofolds to put convex edges on some of my users that are scary sharp.:D
But I strop them after using the diamonds too.
 
I never could get a decent edge on them till I started using the strop and sandpaper. Never could get the angle just right. With the strop and sandpaper it finds it's own angle apparently.
 
I use a 14" OAL - 8" steel - Eze Lap for quick and dirty. Mouse pad and sandpaper is the best, for my skill level.
