What belt/waistband clips or rigs do people prefer?

I’ve used tek-loks, ulti-clips, and made belt loop rigs out of kydex for fixed blade carry. What do you guys prefer to use to carry when you’re not using leather?

Depends on the size of knife and style of sheath, but some sort of drop loop that gets the handle even with my belt line. I like the finger pocket (first 1/3 if the handle) centered on the belt.

I never thought about Velcro, thanks for the idea. How I carry my small fixed blade is with the sheath weaved onto the laces of my work boots (beat up pair of 511s). They are the higher ankle ones so the knife is parallel to my leg. It’s actually pretty comfortable

Tried neck carry and I couldn’t get used to it

Ulticlips for inside the waistband, boot or other more "creative" carry positions. Leather or belt loops for outside the waistband.

I like tek loks but they usually force the handle to ride high and dig into my sides when I sit or bend down. It's tough as I want to use them more, since they're so darned handy, but I find them less comfortable.

I might need to try out the velcro trick.

Oldmanwilly - The TekLoks work well for horizontal carry. I prefer Combat Loops over TekLoks because of their locking mechanism. They're otherwise very similar.

A drop mechanism that attaches to the sheath with Chicago screws would let you run a TekLok/Combat Loop and have the knife handle at a lower location.

I’ll never use a tek loc on small kydex sheaths again

The Velcro is 2 or 2 1/2 inch in width and 10 inches long

You wrap it around your belt

It pulls the knife close to body

A trek loc holds it away from your body and it carries not nearly as well

This video shows how to rig

Thanks for showing the Velcro option, Joe. I'm going to take a closer look at that option myself. I use the DCL Combat Loops too but tend to have the same issues as others have stated. They carry too high and too far from the body unless other creative solutions are employed.

John Gray deserves the credit :)

Once you go Velcro you will never go back :)

This made me like kydex a lot more when before I would only use leather because of the way a good leather horizontal sheath pulled close to your belt line

Ok then. Thank you Joe and thank you John Gray!
