Hi everyone. I came across this Benchmade in my box of knives and to be honest I have no clue as to which Benchmade model this is. I do know it is not an old Panther but not much other than that.

Any ideas?

From the 1991 catalog this knife is a Model 300 Monarch. Blade steel was Sandvick 12C27. It's unknown whether it had a pocket clip, I suspect it carried in a pouch. There you go!

Thank you very much! There does not appear to be any provisions to mount a pocket clip so I think you are correct about it being carried in a pouch.

As jkarp already mentioned, it's a model 300. They are quite a low production knife.
It also did originally come with a sheath.

Thanks for jumping in my friend. Folks, Patryn is worth following and knows his Benchmades.

...Joe

I wish I had the sheath and the box. Patryn, you are indeed a greats source of knowledge! Thank you sir.

Nice seeing all these BM forum guys over here. :)

Joe, I was just in your neck of the woods last week with the family at the beach. We ate one night at Rudee's at Rudee's Inlet -- sat in one of the crazy rocking boat booths. Tourist trap perhaps, but the food was outstanding, and the Wife is a fool for softshell crabs.

Easy, always good to see you posting here!

I'm embarrassed to say that at one time I had almost every production Pacific Cutlery and BM folder there was dating up to about 2000 and sold them all to fund other, honestly less joyful things. Oh well. I never had one of those, however. The closest thing I had to that woulda been the Panther series of folders that had similar profile and construction with a tip down clip that mounted under the pivot post and had a slightly different grip texture.

Thanks Professor, my new home is in a beautiful location, and local knife laws are easy to live with. Most of my EDC's are in the <3" range anyway. Regarding the Panther, I like the blade shape, and they must be hard to find even without the original carry pouch. (Which is probably easier to find...) ;)
