Not a big fan of the stock sheath that came with my bk16. I would like to get one in leather. What sheaths do you like for your bk16?

Give our brother Psyop here on the forums a yell. He does great work. He might be a little sore though, he just bagged a deer with his bike :D

Took the words right outta my mouth. Or off my keyboard. Or something.

If you can wait for him to heal - I really like his work. He did all 3 of these for me: (16's in the middle)

You can see more at kelley custom leather.

If you can't wait for him, or like a different style, people around here seem to like Goose and Skystorm a heck of a lot, too.

Oh, I have plenty of time (budgetary constraints and all). I did check out skystormleatherworks and there are so many styles and carry options available. I suppose the style really depends on how it's going to be used. My 16 will primarily be used as a general camp/woods/outdoor knife. I don't think I need any kind of tactical carry option. I guess I'm also interested in seeing how other bk16 or similar knife owners carry and use theirs.

Goose = Sagewood Gear

Here are a couple pics of his different available styles.

Skystorm is a member here on the forums and does amazing work.

Can't say enough about Sagewood, he did my sheath for my BK2. I will be going to another maker on here for my 16 to spread the wealth.

That's a nice looking sheath. Simple and looks like it carries easy. Do most of you carry on your strong side?

Is this a new thing for the sheath to come up high on the knife handle? Is there an advantage to it?

Love the snakeskin by the way.

I have plenty of time to sew leather since I cant work for a month lol Yeah Sky the snakeskin inlay looks awesome!

it allows for secure carry without really tight retention or a retention strap -- it's not new, just back in fashion 100 or so years later.

Thanks Psy, You should give one of those a go at some point. They are pretty challenging, I will need to pick up a splitter before doing anymore of them.

Just happened to receive a Condor Kephart the other day.... it just so happens that the leather Condor sheath fits the BK-16 pretty well. $30 and you get another knife at the same time....
