Curious - I am not up on scissors - I hear there are upscale brands out there just like there are with knives. Was wondering - for those times a pair of scissors is required instead of your trusty EDC knife - is there any brand of scissors that you use that is worth mentioning?

Several Vic models come with scissors. They do the job for me when I need scissors.

 Can you give an example, 'cause I'm drawing a blank here. ;)

Sissors for what?

I have those military issue heavy duty medical like sissors, for heavy stuff like rubber hose, straps, nylon, etc.

Also have a pair of Klien sissors that handle all manner of tuff stuff anf open up with a screw for single blade resharpenning. they cut everything from gasket material to cardboard.

But generally I use the sissors that came with my J.A.Henckles (german, not chinese made) set. they work great for everything around the house, the only challenge is getting my 6 year old to put them somewhere I can find them when he is done with his craft work.

I know Fiskars are not top of the line end all be all scissors, but they are fantastic for home use for the price. I used to edc those when I wore an orange apron at Home Depot in the garden dept. Those fiskars would cut metal banding and still be sharp. Some of our freight had metal straps, but not enough to constitute carrying snips like the Building materials guys, so the Fiskars made a believer out of me.:thumbup:

Some Pampered Chef scissor/shears my wife got me. I've cut a penny in half with them before... they're pretty neat.

Working in a print shop in the old days when we still used film, scissors were much better and faster than knives for cutting up the film. We used Fiskars.

Regular average plain jane scissors from any grocery or office supply store. To me scissors are scissors. I don't cut people's hair for a living so I don't care.
