What Buck are you taking hunting this fall

I stopped hunting a few years ago, but my original 110 accompanied me for well over 40 Pennsylvania archery and rifle deer seasons, and it's seen a lot of use. If I were going out this season, I think I'd opt for something that wouldn't make me cringe when I have to hose the blood, etc off of it. Like maybe the 110LT.:)

It’s a few years since I’ve been able to make it into the woods because of health. Hoping maybe next year. But this one became my squirrel knife the last few years I did make it.

Odd as it may sound but if I could only hunt one animal it would be the lowly squirrel. It’s just relaxing.IMG_0383.jpeg

I posted these in the other forum. The phenolic 118 has been my go to/main hunting knife since the late 60s. I was given some main 118 parts, thanks Craig❤️. I sent them to Leroy to have him put together a 118 with a Lucite handle somewhat like in the old days...
I take them both on hunt outings.

We are back to town. Finally scored the last day of the season. My working knives are usually these and I am getting ready to skin, bone and grind today and tomorrow. The pronghorns have been in our "crouch-in" walk-in cooler for 3 1/2 days. 20251104_085029.jpgimage000000(1).jpgTwo of those 102s and 121s have seen me through a lot of years and you might be able to see the blade loss. Bruce loves the 118s and I like them as well, but I have always used the 102s and 121s. There is a new-ish 105 in there that is still wet behind the ears, so to speak. The 105 and 117 are also fine working knives for hunting and processing. So that makes 5 dandy patterns for the purpose, in my never-humble-opinion. Well... sometimes I am kinda humble. Always grateful.

My go-to hunting knives. 118 w/S35VN, 101 with 154CM, and my ergo waterfowler in S30V.
Plenty of knife for anything I run in to this fall.

I know why the 118 was discontinued. They figured since it's the prefect hunting knife that anyone who bought one would realize that and never buy another hunting knife. By discontinuing it, all other offerings being close, but not perfect - hunters keep buying knives hoping to find "The One" (aka 118)

Yes; and you can say the same for the 121. And the 105, except they still make those. All gold.

I sure wish they still offered those S35VN micarta 118s. The 117 is awesome, but it's not a substitute. Not enough sweep in the blade.
