Hey Everyone!
So I had a a buck knife I bought about 5 years ago. (Approximately) and I lost it. I have been trying to figure out which exact one it is. It was VERY similar to the current 685 BuckLite Max 2 Large, as it had a black dynaflex type handle with the dotted grip. However, there was no hole in the back of the handle and it was a little bit beefier, whereas the new one has a slimmer handle. There was no guthook on it. I also know it came with the cloth sheath and the buck logo on the sheath went across horizontally but the new ones go down vertically. I seem to remember it being 4.5 inches but it may have been 4. Does anyone know what the knife was called and where I could find one? Thanks for all help!

ask in the buck subforum........

edit part: guess ya got it moved...now for the answers...from the buck boys......

Possibly the Buck 479 Diamondback?

Thanks for the responses, yes it was a fixed blade. And the handle had the same "dots" for the grip as the one I originally mentioned.

Yeah no lanyard hole as mentioned formerly and the grip was different from the 479 brought up. Although the case and blade are similar. Thanks for the help so far! It was literally the 685 minus the lanyard hole and it wss slightly thicker

Was the knife US made? I have one somewhere that is as you describe, but it's a foreign Buck. I'll try to find it and post a pic.

As you may know the 685 didn't exist 5 yrs ago and the handle on it is pretty good size. The only thing close to this that I am aware of is the 673 bucklite max which has a smaller handle and lanyard hole, and then the 495 which has different blade shap and probably has a larger handle but still a lanyard hole.

Ah Yes! It is the 495! I don't remember the lanyard hole but it must have had one. :) Thank You! What is the full name of the 495? I remembered it because of the different shaped blade! Thanks again Everyone! (And in reply to the other post it was USA made)

Perfect thanks, I looked online for some, but I couldn't really find one for a reasonable price... anyone know where I could find one? Or could I post on the knife exchange?
