I ordered 3 Camillus G.I. folders as gifts for retired marines. I ordered from www.discountknives.com I waited and waited, emailed and was told they hadn't recieved my order. So I do a Postal M.O. trace. They cashed the M.O. So I email again and am promised the knives. I get one knife in the mail.I email again and am promised the knives. Again I wait. By this time one of my gift recipients has passed away and the other one moved. So I ask for a refund. I am promised a credit instead. Like an idiot I choose another product and am informed I need an additional $4.01 S/H. I send it, again via PMO. Now, many weeks later I have nothing, and Brian of Discount Knives states they cannot find any record of either M.O., even after aknowledging the situation in past emails. So now I have to involve the Postal Inspector. I am out time, money and most important honoring 2 servicemen. :(

Welcome to Bladeforums, but I'm sorry about your situation! :(

The only thing I could suggest is filing a mail fraud claim with your local post office...

We have another forum here at BF.C, it's under the "Exchange" heading, called "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Forum." It's sort of our version of eBay's feedback only a bit more brutal. I suggest you post your experiences there in a thread entitled "DiscountKnives.Com Bad and/or Ugly." And, in the future, before doing business with some company, do a search through our The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Forum for any past mentions of that company.

Also, do not hesitate to involve the Postal Inspectors. I'm told that when it comes to fraud involving postal money orders, they are brutal and will fully persue the situation even when only a few bucks are involved. This is why I always use Postal MOs.

get the cops invloved, and talk to a lawyer, you may be able to sue for damages :D that will get there attention.

The quickest and most effective way to recieve your stuff or money back is, FILE MAIL FRAUD with the post office, you can do this dirctly thru their website and it works I've had to file in the past 3 times, and all 3 situations where similiar to yours. the sellers stalled shipment/ refund, even 1 refused to refund for a wrong part, after arguing back and forth. I claimed mail fraud, and if you file like I did, you'll find that the seller will suddenly experience an epiphany and sends your stuff. I got my stuff/refunds within a period of 10-14 days after filing my claim.

Well thats odd
I've only made one order through discount knives, but the service was very good. The order got here on time, but was the wrong knife. Sent me a BM 705 rather than a BM750. honest mistake . One email was all it took, the 750 arrived about 3 days later with a pre paid postage label to send the 705 back.
I don't remember anything but good feedback on discount knives here on the forums either.
I guess since it involves a postal money order, do what you can with a claim through the post office.
Hopefully there has just been some sort of mix up, and this doesn't happen very often. Good luck.

sorry to hear that. I almost did business with them myself, but after doing a search I found out they didnt have a good reputation. I refrained from it and went somewhere else. maybe if discount knives knew you were spreading the word about their practices maybe they might do whats right?

I would file a complaint with the
Federal Trade Commission ; but first
go to your State's Dept. of Consumer
Protection/Affai(s). I don't have the FTC's Tel# handy, but you can get it from the Federal Information
Center : Tel# 1-(800)-688-9889

The FTC investigates "foul" business practice(s) that involve "interstate" business "fraud" & I believe they're ultimetely the "bottom line" whenst dealing with these "offender(s). The business being investigated, if found to have "mislead" the consumer can lose it's "precious" Federal & State license
to do so if found in the wrong.

But, start a "paper trail"; keep the tel#'s & name(s) of ALL you speak to, especially at the "State Dept.
of Consumer Protection/Affair(s)"

READ : MAKE WAVES!;)

AET;)

Boy Matt, you don't read the GB&U forum often, do you? Discountknives.com has had more bad reviews than good.

Sorry to hear of your problems cuttup, but I am not surprised. Too bad your first post on BladeForums had to be about receiving this kind of service from Discount Knives.
