Hello guys...I am inexperience with sharpen the blade. I just done one...instead of sharpen the blade edge, the mirrored blade body showed light mark of scratch...:(

Suppose to happen like that?? Is there any way to polish the mirror part to scratch free??

Any one knows how please let me know.

Sorry to hear about the scratches. It has happened to me also.

Next time you might try covering most of the blade, of the knife to be sharpened, with painter's tape. Just leave the edge uncovered. It goes on easy and comes off completely without leaving a sticky residue on the blade.

I use the Edgepro Apex sharpener and metal slurry can work itself under the knife's blade during the honing action causing scratching. I renew the painter's tape on the resting platform every so often as well as wiping it off between knives.

A buffing wheel could be of aid in removing the scratches. If you don't have one then most jewelers do. Power buffing wheels can fling the knife with velocity so take care.

Best,
