What can I sell at Blade?

So, this year I will have a booth for my auction site. I was told by the Bladeshow organizers that I can sell whatever I want as long as it's not illegal, counterfeit or in their own words, "@#$% from China". I was planning on offloading a sizable amount of my Busse collection to encourage people to use the site. It will be VERY painful, but it's something I need to do.

Are there any issues with me selling some of my Busse collection during Blade? I know David Brown had a few for sale with his sheaths and there may even have been a few other people that I was unaware of. I just don't want to cause any sort of conflict with the community.

One thing I WILL NOT do is buy Busse blades on Friday and resell them Saturday. Anything I buy during the show will come home with me, period.

Sell away. You're paying for the right to sell the same as others in attendance. And variety is the spice of life :)

If you pay, you can play.
Good on you for not selling right after you bought.
And extra good on you for not "brown bagging" as some do, a lot of folks work very hard to afford the tables and booths to actually sell on the show floor, so to sell your wares on the floor without paying for a table is bad form.
If you sell your stuff after the show in the pit or anywhere other than on the show floor during the show that is fine.

Cool, thanks for the responses. I have been sifting through the collection in my messy man cave... snip.

Havok550, I edited your post heavily because it reads like a WTS thread without prices. Including pix.
Sorry, man...as ya know, this is the wrong forum for that.

Every time I think I've grown a pretty decent collection I see one much more impressive than mine. Great looking stuff you've got there. See you at Blade.

Thanks!! My collection is lacking individual knife types which I have tried to make up for in quantity. I am still missing a Ruck, AK, and a MOAB. Maybe I will see some at Blade this year? ;)

With that lot for sale I predict that your booth will be a great success! :D

Please let me have the location number when you have it.........looking forward to seeing you there.

Steven

Are you serious? Not a single knife in any of those pics was for sale, period. I was discussing the ethics of selling Busse blades at a show that Busse attends and decided to show some pics of me trying to organize my man cave. Those pics were horrible, unorganized and were obviously not posted to entice a buyer. You removed most of my comments, which doesn't make any sense either.

So, since I was trying to turn this into a WTS thread, what about people asking if they should buy a TGLB or an AA? Should that only be in the WTB section even though they are just asking for advice? I have also seen people post threads about which knife they should keep or sell with pics. On top of that, there is a post here monthly about a knife or gun show selling Busse blades with pics. Why am I being singled out when I didn't break a single rule?

One more thing, ONE and only ONE person actually contacted me to see if I had some of the knives he was looking for, none of which were in those pics. I told him the same thing I am saying now, nothing is for sale. If I was pulling a fast one on the moderators, wouldn't you think I would have been contacted by more people?

I apologize for the sarcasm, but this was reaching a bit too far. I pay to use this site and expect a little more courtesy than this.

The thread starts asking about selling at BLADE. This in itself is nothing. Your question gets answered and then you post up pix of a lot of knives. Not the most glamorous and enticing photos, but still showing that you have quite a few. Each pic is described by listing the models. Then the post ends with this sentence:

I would be willing to bet by the time I make it to Blade, I won't be selling very much at all :)

Since you started this thread to inquire about selling at BLADE, that sounded odd... You also stated in the quoted post here that at least one person reached out to you looking for something even though it's not what you posted...but seems that this person also got the same feeling from this thread that you were ready to sell knives right now.

As for your question(s) in the second paragraph:
1. People asking for advice on which (Bussekin) knife they should buy are not posting a WTB. They are looking for advice and then go to make the purchase, usually through Busse. If they are more blatant on the WTB path, I edit them too...when I catch them.
2. Not a question, but you see thatMguy posting these show notices because he is an authorized Busse dealer. That's also why idahoskunk is allowed to post teaser threads here on new knives that are going to the Busse Company Store.

I'm not singling you out. I'm also not the only (nor the first) moderator on this site who thought your thread slanted heavily into what looked like a WTS teaser thread in a discussion forum. I made the edit and left it at that. No infraction, no warning, I didn't even lock the thread. I don't think that you intended to make it sound like a WTS thread, but the thread started to read like one and so I edited it.

From one paying member to another, I believe that I was courteous to you concerning your post. It was the lightest action that I had available to me past ignoring it entirely. Thank you for supporting BladeForums.

I guess you don't know me all that well and it could be assumed I was trying to pull a fast one, but, again, that was not my intention at all. I have never sold a single knife from my collection in my entire life and I consider every single knife in my possession to be part of my collection. I hate selling things, I am not a salesmen, I suck at it, period :barf:

My only point in bringing up other posts were that they were filled with people actually trying or thinking about buying or selling which is all that I was doing. If I wanted to dangle a carrot in front of others, I would have done a way better job :)

But anyway, my questions were answered at the top, so I got the info I needed. I hate being accused of something I didn't do, hence my aggravated response. Jaxx, you can't ban me from the Blade Show, right? :D (just joking) See you there!!

One more thing:

"I would be willing to bet by the time I make it to Blade, I won't be selling very much at all"

That comment has to do with me deciding that I may not want to sell many of my knives, not that I would be sold out by then. Again, you assumed I was trying to sell something here which I wasn't.
