What can U fit in a stone pocket?

Yep That's my question. I recently got a great sheath from Gundy that has a sharpening stone pocket. I was hoping to carry some kind of tool or mini-kit. What would you put in it? As a reference, a Doan's mag block is a little too wide for it and a regular SAK a bit too long. Thanks.

You could cut the Doans block down and still have plenty.

Personally, I'd put a Leatherman Squirt P4 with a small lanyard in it.

I guess it depends on how big the pocket is. Some pockets you have a hard time squeezing in a 1" x 3" stone. On some you stuff in a full size multi-tool and still have room. How big is the stone pocket?

Maybe an SAK Classic (those little ones), a Scout size firesteel, and spy capsule with some PJ cotton balls. Maybe an LED would fit with all that, and a whistle. I usually have to actually see things to tell. Certainly good compliments to a full kit and to a larger main blade.

Sorry didn't read the original post all the way through.:o . Try a 3/8 ceramic rod,a 3/8 ferro rod,and if you can find a small plastic container (3/8 dia) put in some lighter wood shavings or pjcb. Or how about an emergency whistle and a fresnel lens? Maybe an homage to Les Stroud and jam a harmonica in there.

Here's some small items that I keep on my Necker sheath:

1) Short length of nylon tubing (1/4" dia.) stuffed with pj/cotton balls. The ends are sealed with grease fittings, for no other reason than they fit perfectly (still looking for an ancillary survival use for grease fittings).

2) Geo-mag rare earth magnet (for compass) with groove in center, tied off and wrapped with string. I cut a notch in north end so I can feel it in the dark.

3) Mini ferro rod from Hood's Woods along with small razor blade.

4) EZ-Awl needle

If there was any space left, water balloon and purification tabs.
