Well, it isn't a silk purse but I think it's pretty!

It doesn't make any sense putting ivory on a sodbuster, but sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. ;)

(Sorry the photos are washed out, camera phone)

For those who remember my first foray with the German Eye brand here's an updated photo with the whole gang. I used a Queen this time because the D2 is harder and should last longer, although the Eyes are thinner and easier to get sharp.

I like it! It's good to see that Ivory on a knife that will be used:thumbup:
Thanks for sharing!

**whistling sound when a hot chick walks by** that thing is awesome!!! what a great idea, that knife is a dream! the edge is not to shabby either :-P

It may not be a silk purse but looks like it has made a nice leather one.

2 thumbs up on the project.

Thanks for the kind words fellas, I'm looking forward to using it in the manner which sodbusters are meant to be used. I wonder how the ivory will hold up?

Here's a better pic of the nice ivory on the pile side.

On second thought, I believe it is a silk purse... And they said it couldn't be done!

That looks awesome! I'm going to have to try one of those sometime.

I knew I shouldn't have left it alone...It multiplied!

They clearly share the same DNA.

What's this?

I'm still reconciling in my head the tradeoff of strength and less likelihood cracking with the corby bolts vs the aesthetic of smaller pins for the nonpivot pins. Thoughts?

Gave away Ivory 'buster number 2 to a good friend and had some time to try #3. Decided to go with a black finish this time and smaller pins.

Tweezers secret (they are actually a toothpick as well!):
