It's 2:30am. I'm enjoying a beer and smoke after a hard nights work. I'm on my back porch. I am just amazed that I can hear a train "clickity clackin", horn a blowin. This train is 12 miles from my house!

Thick mist/fog, when I left for work this morning. I could hear tractor trailers on I83. The interstate is a good 8 miles from my house.

This morning I heard my own voice say "is this the *%##@A day before spring" as I trudged through several inches of new snow to scrape the ice off of my truck.

Whitethroat sparrow, promising spring through the falling snow ... "Old Sam Peabody, Peabody, Peabody" Or, local translation, "Oh Canada, Canada, Canada"

I hear the train a-comin'
It's rolling round the bend
And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when ...

Nothing. I'm almost deaf. That's OK though. I've heard enough. :D

You need a great horned owl in the tree next to your house ,then you''l wake up !!

What is it with these birds! A Stellar Jay blew me off my air mattress early a.m. in BC, Canada and I am very accustomed to birdsounds. Total startling eardrum shock. OK, I am awake now.
