I picked up this nice 1994 Buck 112 today and want to know more about it.

Did it come from the factory this way? Is it a commemorative edition? What ever you know and want to share I would appreciate.

Thanks,

Chad

I couldn't say for positive, but I'd say no. There are a bunch of folks here and I'll bet someone will come along that wll recognise the work. It looks like someone did the work aftermarket. It's really good looking!

Actually, the knife was a commemorative in '94, but that was because of the blade etching, not the handle work.

I can tell you it's very cool....nice knife. I have no other information about it.

The wood inlays are coooool...I like the brass seperating the inlays too.A lot of work went into putting that together ! Lucite ? stone? Looks good!

Yes,thats right,2002 was the 100yr.Anniversary model. But I checked mine to see if they had that etching and the anvil stamp. No, the 100yr.etching is different.Mine has a upside down U but most had the anvil stamp. So, I don't know what that etching was for.DM

The blade first showed up in the 1994 catalog with a picture and the following:

"To commemorate the first knives made in 1902 by our founder, Hoyt Buck"

It goes on to describe the banner and so on.

Here's part of the catlog page from 1994. I don't know how good it will look, I had to do a couple of things to get a picture of it.

The year mark is \.

Chad

Chad,We realize the year stamping is 1994 on your knife. However,we thought this stamping didn't match the etching.Hence, the discussion.
Plumber,So,the etching is just to commerate Hoyt making knives? I thought it would have been more than that. Or something different.DM
