What can you tell me about this Northfield knife?

I found this in my father-in-laws things. The model number on the tang is 481211. I know it isn’t very old because the tube it came in says “est. 2006.”

I don’t know a lot about traditional slipjoint knives. What is this pattern called?

It’s a Northfield 48 made by GEC in 2011. Very desirable as it has stag covers with a shield.

The model number 481211 tells you a lot about it . It is a Model #48 , the 1 tells you that the Main Blade is a Clip Blade , the 2 tells you that it has 2 Blades , the 11 tells you that it was made in 2011 . In 2011 GEC called it a Dog Leg Jack sometimes and a Western Trapper sometimes . Other years they called the same pattern a Trapper . Are there any letters after the number ???? I would say that your knife is a Trapper because it has a Spey secondary blade . They made others that year with a Pen secondary blade .
