What can you tell me about this old Ka Bar folder?

It's small, old and has two blades and pearl scales. That's about all I know.

It's an Equal End Pen, model 2202, and just shy of 3" long. The Union Cutlery stamp on the small blade dates it to somewhere between the mid-1930's and WWII.

The scales appear to be celluloid, not Mother of Pearl (MOP).

While I can't give you much info, I have a Utica penknife with almost the exact same scales. I pretty sure they're celluloid, which due to a process that happens sometimes when the material breaks down called out gassing, shouldn't be stored with anything else carbon steel. If your not familiar with out gassing just search "celluloid out gassing" you'll find the info you'll need. I love how mine looks in the sun, it can be a quite beautiful material. Just be aware of its risks
