Apologies as Google-fu did not quite give clear answers. We know that Mora uses 12C27 and 14C28 for its stainless knives, but what carbon steel do they use? Is it comparable in performance to 1095? Thank you, friends.
first thing to remember is mora is in sweden, which is also the home of sandvik steel - (which was spun off into its own separate company now called alleima
mora, to my knowledge, has always used steel produced locally from sandvik mills (now called alleima)
this covers the stainless variants 12c27 and 14c28n, in addition to the carbon steel, which is most likely '20c' (sandvik steel always doubles the carbon & chrome amounts in the naming convention they use - thus 12c27 is 0.6% carbon + 13.5% chrome, and 20c is 1.0% carbon)
this page ^ gives all the wonderful deep dive stats... but the long & short is, it's a simple carbon steel which is clean (low %'s of bad stuff like phosphorus & sulphur)
