what Carbon steel??

Hi,

I have only worked with stainless, D2 and some damascus up to this point. I have been reading quite a bit about carbon steels and the strength factor in larger hard use knives.

I can get some O1 quite easily, any recommendations on what type of carbon steel to use.

O1's good. Reggie barker uses it in cutting comps -and he's won several times.

My top picks are A2, O1 and 5160 in that order. If you want bombproof, S7 is the one.
