I am going to try and build a forced air burner for my forge and I am trying to figure out what CFM rating I should use??
I am using 1" ID pipe with about a 2" inlet into the forge body.
Fuel type is propane.

Thanks,
Stefan

It doesn't take a hurricane blast to run a forced air burner. The rule of thumb is use at least a 25 cfm blower. I've used everything from the outlet side of a shop vac to an old hair dryer. As long as you have a gate valve in the system to control the air flow you can use just about any puffer.

I'm using 2" pipe with a 1.5" bell reducer on the forge end. Big forge :)

90 CFM closed down 90%. Closed 75% for welding.
