What Cold Steel products are the best in quality?

If there was a list what would be the top quality cold steel items for the money? I'm looking to get my friend a cool blade and as Cold steel has had good products before I thought I'd see what's considered to be their best quality budget items.

I'd like it if I could find something that has a decent cool factor like a tomahawk or something but at the same time is tough because my friend will likely not treat the thing with care so it has to be alittle durable.

Cold steel trail master
Cold steel srk
Cold steel master hunter
Cold steel Pendleton

All of these represent big time cold steel products if you ask me. And they can be beat on.
 
Their best stuff isn't necessarily the models, but the steel and where it came from. For example, take the trailmaster. There has been plenty of easily broken Carbon V steel trailmasters, recon scouts, etc, over the years, but I have never heard of a broken San Mai Trailmaster. Those were made in Seki Japan, probably in the same factory as the Falkniven NL series. I do not know their new releases in cpm3V to know how good they are. The steel is good, but without a good HT it is worthless. You can't just say this model or that model is good with CS. IT is all where it is made and what it is made of.

Their cheaper 1055 steel stuff is very tough. I think their GI Tanto in this steel is one of the best deals in a fixed blade available anywhere.
 
The tomahawks are all pretty cheap prices but hold up great to beating on them. The Pipehawk is one of my favorites. The folders with g10 scales and CTS XHP steel are very good.
 
I dont know about budget, i'd go with spyderco's for budget folders. I do know higher end stuff is good i have the old Recon 1 and Gurkha kukri in O1 there great for the money. I used the kukri to cut down a bunch of weeds(yes its what you think it is) when i visited my parents farm earlier this year and it sliced through them like nothing and its still almost factory sharp.
