What color thumb lugs and spacers does CRK offer? I am assuming only gold, silver and blue. I have a knife that was already modded when I bought it with a kind of bronze colored hardware. I would love have double lug installed in the same color.

Thanks!

The gold thumbstuds would be the closest you can get from CRK, if you want to get a bronze colour you would be best to go for silver and anodise them yourself.

The only bronze hardware I've ever seen from the factory on a CRK is on my River of Fire.

And here.

I guess it is a moot point now. I was thinking of keeping the scales as is (they look better in person). But they are kind slick, so I am going to have them blasted. It would still be nice to keep the brown/bronze spacers, lug, etc. and I do want double lugs.

I assume that blasting the scales will remove the anodization... (Recognize the small serrated LW???)

AFAIK, mine is the only one. If there is another like it, I've never seen it. My guess is mine was the first made. CRK has done that before, make the first of a special run even more special. I have a Redwood Burl Mnandi, #2 of 25. #1 came with a really cool lanyard from CRK, I'd love to have snagged that one!

Been a longtime since I wanted to ask this but always forget... Is it possible to preserve the color on the thumb stud while using it? I love the blue thumb studs but hate how it fades with use... I am thinking of spraying it with a clear coat, but wanted to ask in case someone has a better suggestion..

I don't know how to preserve it, but you could use it as a meter to gauge when to send it back to the mothership. By the time all the color is gone, it might be a good time to get a tune up along with a new thumb lug

I had wondered about clear nail polish, or something like that, but sure as hell won't try it on one of my best knives.

You might try Renaissance Wax, but I don't think it would last very long.
