What color is desert sage?

I recently sent in my KZII for a re-coat and asked for a something gray like the tanker, but light like the desert sage. Did I just ask for desert sage twice?

In the pictures it looks gray, but "desert sage" makes me think light brown. The tanker gray looks light in photos, but in person it's pretty dark,but then again, *if* they mix their own colors, there's bound to be a bit of variation from batch to batch.

I think you want urban gray = Light Gray.

Sage has kind of a yellowy green tint in it Kinda like the light green color in the multi-cam pattern camo.

Nah, desert sage is more of a yellowish, brownish color. There's another lighter gray color called urban gray. Here are some examples:

I haven't seen it around for at least a year, though. And if they mix their own colors, I don't think that's any reason to think it'd be inconsistent. They stabilize their wood in-house just for that reason--consistency and quality control. Also, when I asked about the difference in appearance of blue-black G10 (some batches had a lot more black in them than blue), Garth told me that they were taking more care in selecting their G10 to be consistent.

Well, I can say Urban Gray was available on this Urban Camo KZ2 (far left) as recent as Blade this year back in June. Desert Sage is the darker shade of brown on the other two, but I do not know what the lighter brown is called besides desert camo.

depends on lighting but it is a nice color, I think I had a ZTBM in that color also.

Were you thinking of that Desert Sand coating? ...Looks tan but is more textured with black specks throughout?

This is the Desert Sand (I might be off on the name...?). I haven't seen anything with it really recently, but they might still have it for custom requests...but I'm not sure on that. You'd have to call and ask if you want it.

I think I might call and see if they could do a competition finish. I was thinking satin, but maybe that's not so great for a user.

Sage is a hard color to photograph. It is a light sage green color. It really looks a lot like the color of a real sage bush's leaves.
