what color is the avalanche blade?

Hello,
I always thought the blades coated in TiNi are a gloss black, but when my avalanche came I found that it's a matte grey/black. I don't care about the aesthetics, but I just want to make sure I didn't get some factory defect.

All the TiNi coated knives that I've seen were all matte finish, and none of the Avalanches that I've seen have had a mirror/gloss finish. If it's anything like the Boron Carbide coating (like on the Chive) then it'll take on the properties of the finish below it, but I have no idea if it's like the BC coating or not.
