need some help fellow members. I'm colour blind and have a really hard time with red/brown, Black/Blue.

Here are a couple pics with other micarta for reference. I am thinking it is red but I see it brown.

Doug,

I would call it red, almost maroon or a plum color.

Buck calls it "red Buckarta," but I would call it burgundy micarta.

I would go with maroon or burgundy. I don't think it looks red at all. If anything, Picture 1 looks more like brown. I thought it was wood at first.

We probably shouldn't start down the endless color road. Have you ever tried to talk about choosing a paint color with your wife who is an artist? I never knew there were so many different grays until we decided to paint the house; it turns out there are more than 50 shades of gray. To me, white is white, but apparently that isn't so, either. For what it's worth, here is what I found for burgundy: “The color burgundy is similar to other shades of dark red such as maroon, cordovan, and oxblood, but differs from each of these in subtle ways.”

I would call it burgundy micarta. The other problem with color is that it will literally appear differently on different computers. I would guess that many here haven't calibrated their computer monitors to a grayscale or a color chart. Just go with basic simple colors, otherwise it will be a really serious can of worms.
