What compact knife sharpening tool do you recommend?

I have been researching compact sharpening tools and have had so many mixed reviews and varying information that I am unsure as to what to get.
I've looked at models like SMITH's Pocket Pal Multi-Function Knife Sharpener AND BENCHMADE COMBO EDGE DIAMOND SHARPENER 985547F TACTICAL (and other Benchmade models) AND Gerber Pocket Sharpener - both diamond and ceramic.

I have both straight edge blades and serrated.

Can anyone shed any light on the best of these type of sharpeners?

Thank you

kershaw makes a sharpener that acts like an OTF automatic, it works awesome. its the only sharpener i have or need.

I like these kinds. Just google mini-butcher steel and it kicks up some decent results.

DMT makes some great sharpening products. They have a set of Diamond plates that are very thin and about the size of a credit card. Check em out, they are on Amazon.

One more recomendation for the DMT products.

My favorite are the double sided folding combo grit stones. I love 'em.

I have an older version of this:

Works great for quick touch-ups while backpacking, etc. I don't think some people use these very effectively though, drawing the knife through at the bottom of the 'v' trying to do both edges at once. This area would get jammed up with material real quick doing that. I draw the knife down each side like a mini Sharpmaker or mini croc sticks----I think that's how this is intended to be used. I'm rarely on a trip long enough that my knives get dull, but I bring it along 'just in case' or for quick touch-up.

I have an old Arkansas stone that came with one of my Shrade's that I just slipped into a small sheath. Sits in the car for just in case.
