I DO NOT NEED TO KNOW THE VALUE OF THIS BLADE FRIENDS! Even if the rules didn't exist. Its priceless to me.

This knife belonged to my great uncle. After he passed, it was given to my grandfather (his brother). It is now mine. I know it isn't valuable nor do I even want to know the value. I just wish to know more about who manufactured it. Was it a cheap knock off of a more popular design? It is marked "stainless" and "Japan" on the clip point blade and the other small pen blade has no markings. The strange oval emblem on the front has nothing on it either. I have a feeling its a cheapy knock off.

Goins' Encyclopedia lists 50s-80s for that tang stamp. I don't know the manufacturer but my GUESS would be Sabre--just a guess though. It is an inexpensive jack knife made in Japan for export to the USA, not a knock off. In the 50s there were a lot of inexpensive knives from Japan. Now most come from China. It's neat that you have your great uncle's knife. I also have a few inexpensive knives that belonged to relatives. It's a nice keepsake.

I have a little ATCO marked pen knife from my grandpa with the exact same shield, but is much sloppier in general ( might just be because it's so small ) than your knife.
It's probably not the same manufacturer but who knows.
