What constitutes a bowie knife in North Carolina?

North Carolina does permit, as far as I can tell, the open carry of any fixed blade knife, provided it is not a bowie knife, dirk, dagger, etc... Concealed carry of a fixed blade is pretty much a no-no, but open carry seems to be OK, from all the laws I have read. What I am concerned about is, what is the legal definition of a bowie knife? I found several definitions online, each of which is slightly different, but they all agreed on 2 features that it must have to be considered a bowie knife: 1) concave, sharpened clip point, 2) integral cross guard or hand guard. If I were to purchase a knife similar to the one in the link below, would that be considered a bowie knife? It does not have either of the 2 features that seem to 'define' a bowie knife.

Actually the definition is irrelevant because the NC statute only prohibits concealed carry, and has no effect whatsoever on open carry even if it is a bowie knife or dagger. Simply put, NC has no law against any open carry.

Only blade you can legally conceal is an "ordinary pocket knife" (a small knife, designed for carrying in a pocket or purse, that has its cutting edge and point entirely enclosed by its handle).
