Need help on getting a courier to ship a knife to the U.K. UPS says customs will confiscate it,   But I have ordered knives before and got them alright..Can't remember the courier though, Anyone any ideas, maybe a bit of careless labelling on the package "Sporting Goods" "Kitchen Equipment";) ;) ;)

Thanks.

yeah i'd say fedex to,they have online tracking,i tracked a knife across the states, across the pond then to my door.very good

Pointy,

UPS either don't know WTH they are talking about, or you are trying to import a banned knife, take your pick!

It is not illegal to import any knife not on the banned list & if HMC&E have, or threaten to confiscate any knife not on the list, take it up with both Her Majesty's Constabulary & Her Majesty's Customs & Excise, cos you'll have been ROBBED

I've had several knives shipped over from the States, labled either as "Knife", "Gift" or "Cutting tools", none of which had a problem.

I've had them sent by UPS, FedEx and straight US Post. If you want it trackable go for UPS or FedEx, but if you want it quick and cheep go for regular US Post.

The only trouble I've ever had was when I shipped one knife (3" folder) to the US. It was missing for weeks and I assumed it was lost. When I contacted the Post Office they said they would confiscate ANY knife they found. Personally I thought it was BS and they were trying to cover for a lost knife.
As it happened the guy in the States got it the next day.
