Hello all,

I attended the ECCKS yesterday and came home empty handed

I saw a lot of beautiful stuff but nothing "grabbed me"

The only knife I saw that I wanted was a Custom Ken onion that was $650.00 but I only brought $550.00 with me and could not get it.

I like the looks of Greg Lightfoot, Ken Onion, Alen Elishewitz, Brian Tighe etc.

I need help from you all. Here is the mission if you choose to accept: Pleae post links to sites that sell knives by theese makers OR knives of similar type.

Part of the problem is, I don't want to wait for a custom to be made for me. I WANT IT NOW.

I have checked the links section and I am still comming up short.

Any links would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys.

did you talk to Les Robertson or Larry Connelley? I am sure either one can get you what you want at a good price. BTW< did you check out the Terzuola's?

I know how you feel. I'm not very patient either. Check out Allen Elishewitz's home page http://www.elishewitzknives.com/welcome.htm

He usually list some knives available. None right now because they're at the NY show, but he'll probably have some more soon.

Also check Knife Art.com
and http://www.robertsoncustomcutlery.com/

A good selection at both. Good luck choosing though, that's the "hardest" part.

Louis, if you were at the ECCKS, and didn't look up Les Robertson you made a mistake. He was holding court Fri. in the lobby outside the show. Les could definately put a knife in your hands, he really knows his business, and loves the type of knife you're looking for.

If I was $100 off on a knife I really loved, I think I would have made an offer, or a deal to pay off the difference. It never hurts to ask, all they can say is no, and you may be surprised how many times they say yes.

Goog luck with your search.

Thanks for the help so far guys.

Phil, I was there on saturday. Who is Les anyway? The name sounds familliar but I can't place it.

So far the only knife that really gets me goin is A custom Ken Onion. Two problems though. Like I stated before I don't want to wait, and now that I am thinking about it I don't know if I want to spend $650.00 on a folder right now. I am probably going to go with a small Sebenza.

I have an older model folder made by Allen Elishewitz which seldom carry, but always love. Besides being a great looking knife, they don't come any smoother. In fact, every custom made Elishewitz folder that I have had the opportunity to play with has always been super smooth. There are TONS of other makers out there who make a nice knife. I, however, am thouroughly pleased with mine.

All good recommends, and I'm going to have to get an Elishewitz one of these days, but you should also take a look at John W Smith http://members.tripod.com/~smithknives/index.html & Johnny Stout http://www.concentric.net/~Jlstout/ They're better known for their fancy stuff, but both make tacticals in you price range. Just remove the mammoth ivory and add micarta or carbon fiber!
