What custom knife are you waiting for?

What custom knife do you have on order right now and how long have you been waiting :D?

I just sent off my deposit for a K. Tomey Day Hiker. I didn't ask her how long it will take because... well it doesn't matter. It is going to be a great knife when she gets around to making it for me. This is my first righteous custom order (a Dozier and a Ricky Fowler bought off the table at Blade don't count). And to think I showed up here way back in 2001 thinking I was going to start collecting swords... ;).
 
I have a Darrel Ralph Small Aftermath on order, and I have a Duncan Whiplash heading my way right now.
 
I have a medium TNT in Timascus from Tom Mayo, a small model 2 framelock from Mike Obenouf and a small Wharncliffe from A.T. Barr. All left handed of course!:D :cool: ;)
 
I'm waiting for 3 customs -

1 - Rob Davidson (about 9 months)
2 - Bruce Evans (hasn't been long - hoping for Christmas delivery)
3 - Ron Leuschen (hasn't been long - hoping for Christmas delivery)

Don't mind the waiting; it builds the suspense & I don't like to see a craftsman rush! Just to 'whet my appetite', I also put an order into Buck for 2 folders. Should have both maybe by November! Then comes the countdown to Christmas 2002!:D
 
Pete,what goodies did you order on your Day Hiker? I'm waiting on a Bill Siegle Hoodlum in Ironwood,probably another month or so.I'm also waiting on a DB folder in stag from Bailey Bradshaw.It has been 14 months for that one ,still have a while to wait.Hopefully in January. :)
 
I was waiting on the Carson/Vanguard and had been for about a month and 1/2. I actually had been waiting longer but that's when I actually commited to it. I wait no longer:D It came as a surprise package this past Thursday!

Now I am waiting on the large model 2 framelock from Mike O. This one is going to have a few mods to make it to my liking a little more. I am going with a thicker stock blade and the handle spacer is going to be titanium. Should be Christmas time for delivery. Ordered it about three weeks ago.
 
I have a custom Kit Carson with a CF scales, titanium bolsters & liners, S30V (hardend to RC60) modified Wharncliff blade. I don't expect it for some time.:(
 
won't you Santa Cruz? Sounds like it is going to be another badboy from Kit. I have sure gained an extra appreciation for Kit's work in the past couple of months!
 
There are some nice knives on order here. I suppose if you work at it you can get enough knives on order that a new one will be showing up every month.

Stumpy, I went for the Ebony handle with a red spacer, red and brass pins and some vine file work. It was a tough choice because I also rather like burl woods. I decided not to go with a guard. I have told myself I will be using this knife. I may change my mind when I get it :D.
 
I have a small TNT in Tidepool Timascus, with a wharncliffe blade on order. Been waiting six months; still have another six to nine months to wait in all likelihood.

Also have a Progression M folder (wharncliffe blade) on order from Ed Caffrey. At least another six months wait on that one, while Ed enjoys the sun and sand. ;)

Which, of course, means that both knives will be ready shortly before next year's Blade show, forcing me to sell another kidney. :eek:
 
I should have a Jens Anso Hybrid arriving any day now!!! :) :) :)

I also have a convex ground Dozier K-1 on order, which should arrive mid-November. :D :D :D
 
I have an Irie MFK in CPM 3V on order. I placed my order for this knife at last year's Blade West knife show. Looks like I might get it by Christmas.
 
This is my first custom and I'm fired up. It's a Bob Dozier K-4 straight hunter with a wilderness sheath. I have a five mounth wait but if all goes well by Feb.2003 I'll have my new EDC.:D

Waiting on a Camper From Hell from Max Burnett, Christmas gift to myself. After that's out of the way I will ask Bruce Evans to start on a little work knife for me that I asked him to make about a week ago. While it's not a knife, I've got a Roman Riding Sword from Patrick Barta coming in about Feb-June of next year. All 3 guys are great people to work with. Thinking about it, that totals about $1000 worth of steel...
