1", 3/4 inch? These will be ground into small knives - oal 7-8 inches. Does anyone know the groove diameter of Benchmades Activator?

Thanks in advance.

I don't like finger grooves because they are worthless if they don't fit the user's finger . The only knife I have with grooves [and that has been modified] is a Dozier. the first groove is 1" dia and the rest are 2 3/4".

A quarter has always worked for me. One size fits most :p If you happen to have fat fingers and need something bigger... it sucks to be you :D

LOL, Now that WOULD suck if your fingers were bigger than your nostrils!

It really would! What would you do for entertainment while waiting for the steel to heat up in the forge! :barf:

I agree with Mete on finger grooves. The only ones I have ever made that I liked were on a handle I made from a big wad of plumbers Epoxy. I made a long, fat handle and when it was still pliable, squeezed it to form the grooves. I sanded it and dipped it in latex rubber. I got a good fit on it and had my first custom divers knife!

i would suggest using the diameter of one of your wheels!....if you are only makin a few dozen or so pieces, you can also use a slotted dowel in your drill/drillpress w/ a strip of belt in the slot to clean up a inside dia....also, you can use a piece of round bar stock mounted parallel and behind the belt...a quick in and out on it will form the belt to the contour of the bar behind it and clean up your grooves...

good luck!
