I got this on ebay.Anyone every seen anything like it.Please look at this site 6586910043.Sorry I don't know how to make this easy to get to.Toby

You bought a Schrade LB-7 that someone customized by cutting down the handles and liners it also has a custom sheath. For 10 bucks you did ( in my opinion) real fine. The sheath looks like it easily cost twice that alone congrats on a good buy on an oddball. LT

Thanks,I wanted the sheath,The knife is a great bonus.I will have to wait to see if they did a good job.By the way ,Thanks for all you do to help us new collectors out.Toby

I received this knife today.I'm amazed. The knife has been used as a EDC but other than the bolsters showing a few dings and a little wear from the sheath the knife is great. It's never been sharpened. The sheath is a custom job from someone. It is made to hold the knife in all three positions. All I need to do is figure out how to rehydrate the leather. It's dry.I know I asked this before but if anyone has ever seen something like this knife or this sheath would you let me know where.Toby

Toby; I'm right up the road from you in Kerrville. I'd be glad to try to help you revive the sheath IF it can be done. 830-367-5536

The lady I bought the knife from says the original owner had this custom made by Schrade.Did they do custom work.If so when and who did the work. Thanks,Toby

Respectfully I believe she is mistaken. Yes they did have a custom shop however this never came from it and you should not be confused by that fact. It could have been done by an ex employee or anyone for that matter however I do not believe it was ever done as a selling item by them. They also had a research and development room where almost anything was possible however I would still feel confident it did not come from the Schrade factory. Does she have more to the story any provanance or reference names to give the possibility more validity? As I have said in the past anything is possible with Schrade and that is where a lot of the fun is with them. Still I feel it a very safe bet that this was privately done. LT

Toby; If you want to you can mail me the sheath (it should fit in one of those manilla padded envelopes) and I can do whatever I can and mail it back....or you can wait until you can drive. Your call.

Thanks Paul,I think I'll do that. It's easier.LT I figured she had gotten bad info but I thought I would ask.Although this is a very good custom job it is not a factory grade job. Thanks again for your feedback.Toby
