What did Santa bring you??

In another thread someone suggested we share what Santa "Buck" left under the tree for us Knife Knuts. Instead of continuing that thread I thought I start a new one so it would be easier to find. Santa "Buck" - or in my case, Mrs. Santa "Buck" spoiled me again this year. Two Limited Edition 110's, a membership in the NKCA, and $50 towards my next knife - whatever that may be!!!

The first 110 is a Factory Special with the scales made from wood from the factory with "El Cajon" and the logo stamped on the blade. Purchased from John - THANKS BUDDY!!!!

The second 110 is even more unique! The knife is from the early '90's and depicts a Gold Etched scene commemorating Punxsytawny Phil, the winter predicting Ground Hog from Pennsylvania. This blade is my lowest Limited Edition number being #5 out of 100 which supposedly were sold out the first day they were available. The knife was purchased from an ex-factory rep. who's rep.# was "5". The fact that I live in PA, makes this knife that much more special to me!

I hope that everyone else had an equally Merry Christmas and pray that everyone has a happy, safe, and prosperous New Year.

I am looking forward to see what the rest of the group got...

I had a real good knife year!so i didnt ask for anything from Santa. I did find a Vic Pen and Knive combo in my stocking.
My Father in law came out real good... Buck Alpha (ATS 34, Rosewood)and the Centennial 112.
Happy Holidays

I've wanted a 110 for many years, so my wife gave me a 110FG! It's my first Buck, and I am really impressed with it. I've had Schrade folding hunters and I liked them, but this Buck is polished so much better it's incredible. Now I want a 301.

Well guys, I made out like a bandit. Santa was very good to me. I'm one of the lucky ones that has a wife that not only supports my knife collecting, but actively pursues knives for me. She tracked down six Buck custom knives that I didn't have. Here's what she picked up for me.

1. 110 with Ironwood handles. It has a brass bolster in the front
none in the rear. The blade is Damascus with the Buck Custom
stamp.

2. 110 fingergroove with Ironwood handles. This one has a front
nickel silver bolster and none in the rear. The blade is
Damascus with the Buck Custom stamp. This one is really sweet!

3. 315 Yachtsman with Ironwood handles and a mirror polished 440c
blade with the custom stamp. This one is my first custom 315.

4. 503 Prince with ironwood handles and a mirror polished 440c blade.
This one also has the custom stamp.

5. One of a kind fixed damascus blade with the custom stamp. This one
reminds me of a slimline skinner, but the blade has a long
chamfer. It has no guard with a Macassar Ebony handle. One sweet
knife!

6. Another one of a kind, a 704 Maverick with Mother of Pearl
handles. The blade is mirror polished with the custom stamp.
The front bolster is nickel silver and no rear bolster.

Needless to say, I was one happy and thankful camper on Christmas Day! :D I hope everyone else made out well also.

John,

I feel as lucky having my girlfriend actively support my knife-addiction.....:D She doesn't help me track them down, but she does help buy them now and then. You made out like a bandit!!! :p

I feel equally as lucky to have friends like you who every once in a while decide they want to sell a part of their collection. The Factory Bulding 110 we bought from you sits proudly in my office.

Thanks again !!!!;)

Dan,

I'm thrilled that you're pleased with the Factory Building 110. I'm glad that this knife found a good home. The friendships that are made while collecting knives is one of the best benefits of our hobby!
Happy collecting!

I got my first Buck, a 100th Ann. 112 :) among others, this one was special to me b/c its my first

Didn't get a Buck, but I did get two other folders; One was a Brad Duncan large Whiplash and the other was a Mike Obenauf large model 2 framelock. I did pick up a Buck/Strider 880sp a couple of weeks before Christmas and I have a post here about the same knife. I also ended up with enough cash to go back to the store where I got the large Buck and get the "small" Buck/Strider spearpoint. I didn't test it out the other week but if it is like the large, action ,lockup, and fit/finish then I am on it!! In fact I believe I will head down there first thing tomorrow morning.

Got my first 110 just before Christmas. My wife was putting some things on lay-a-way at Wal Mart and she put one on her lay-a-way for me. It had to be out by Dec. 20 so I got that one early. It is an awesome knife. My daughter gave me one of the colbalt Bucklites, the one that is about 37/8" long. It is handy to keep hear and there. My wife helps me pick up Bucks from time to time. She even bids on Ebay for me sometimes which is nice because she will bid higher than I will. She is a blessing. We gave our son-in-law a Buck Zipper which he thinks is awesome and he is right. I got to see it before he did. We had his initials put on the side of the end cap. It looks great.

Although I received these before Christmas - they are my first knives from Buck (definitely not my last!) & still with me at Christmas!

Russell,
It's great when our wives help us out with our Buck collection. I wouldn't want it any other way.:D I hope you enjoy your 110. They'r one of my favorites, especially the finger groove model.

Clydetz,

Thanks for sharing your pics with us. We got my two boys the Alpha Hunter with the Rosewood handles for Christmas. They sure are sweet knives. I love your elkhorn 110FG, sure looks good.

Wow.., you guys cleaned up :).., congrats.., some great knives...

Buckcustom,

Thanks for the compliments! This past year I've been putting my ideas to paper & several gracious knifemakers have 'built' my customs with their knowledge & craftsmanship. But when I saw the Buck Alpha Hunter folder, I had to have it! Your're right about it being a 'sweet' knife - love that solid 'click' upon opening! Elk stag / elk horn / polished elk stag is one of my favorite handle materials. I 'played' around on Pete's Custom Knife Shop for about a week before settling on my final choice for the Buck 110FG! Plan on having these two for quite a long time!
