Tomorrow morning I'll head back to Virginia from Georgia. I have spent the past four days at Stone Mountain Highland games. My clan, Clan Elloit, was the honored clan, and the honored guest for the games was Margaret Frances Boswell Eloitt of Redheugh, 29th Chief of Clan Elloit.

I spent the last three days enjoying Margaret's company and that of her husband, Christopher Wilkins. We had a large number of Elloit clan commissioners and other visitors there. It was a super vacation for Judy and me, as we almost never go anywhere just for fun. Sylvia Elloitt, the GA commissioner, did a bang-up job on setting up the clan tent and running the weekend flawlessly. The photo is of the four of us.
Stone Mountain is also a really nice place.

I put together a few sheaths Friday night, fished a small fishing tournament on Saturday with my bass fishing club. Sunday I put handles on a couple of blades, went to lunch with some friends who came in from out of town, then led the singing at Sunday night church.

Cleaned out the shop a bit, setup my kool mist sprayer, made a tool rest, purchased a surface grinder. Fairly productive I'd say. (can not wait to get the surface grinder)

Brilliant!!! I didn't know you were Scottish and into the gathering of the clans! I bagpipe all summer, doing parades, concerts, etc (piper with the 96th Highlanders in Jamestown, NY) but the highlight by far are the three festivals/ Highland games we do every year. It's loads of fun hanging out with large groups of folks with like interests, especially when those interests are very common.... Sorta like custom knife making ;)

Now we need to get a set of pipes in you hands :D
