This weekend I ripped out one of the jewelery stores and completely rebuilt it.I started at 3PM Friday, emptying the store. On Saturday I started building fixtures. We bought an entire store in Philadelphia and had everything trucked down in complete disassembly. I cut it all up and made new units from the pieces. I had everything built and wired by 5PM Sunday.Man am I tired, but boy am I proud of this remake. It is in cherrywood burl. The hanging lights are alabaster. The cases are lit by fiberoptic systems.I built 12 cases, and five wall units, plus all the overhead lighting.

nice job Stacy

I've been getting the shop cleaned up some for the guys coming over tomorrow..
The goat path is a cow path now with a little pasture room too...:D

A little at-home admin that needed to be done. And helped my wife pick up a little new business for herself.

Oh yeah, house cleaning!!

I removed 9 30 year old rotunda hollies and 2 35 year old tea olives for my dad, and got $100 bucks for it. Those tea olives made the axe bounce back when it hit, like ironwood does, me-thinks they might make somewhat ok handle material.

..on that note, you know when you chop wood so long your hands are stuck like they are wrapped around the handle and it really hurts to move them? Yeah. Stupid tea olives. Now you're dead. :D

finally took down all the christmas stuff.....10 more months before i have to put it all back up

i ve been working from 4am to 5pm this weekend. man im exhausted and still got 1 more day to go. you ever feel like a lemming?

oh yea sliding around in the ice here in oklahoma and stoking the fire at home

Stacy, you worked your tail off. Man, I thought I was working hard this weekend. I had to build a new workbench for my machinery, tear down the old one, re arrange everything, build a redneck multi station dust collection system, figure out the "power grid", put stuff back, vacuum up 2 years of metal shavings and balsa dust from under the workbench. Oh yea, I got to do about 2 hours of blade steel surface clean up.

Wow Stacy! That looks great!

I went to the 3rd annual Bill Gichner Memorial Hammer-In in Cordova, MD on Saturday and today my nephew came up to work with me in the shop (I'm helping him with a school project on blacksmithing) and for his birthday party. He convinced his folks to let him stay the night so we're all up late playing video games :D

Wow, all in one weekend ?? You didn't stop for too many breaks did ya. That is a nice looking place Stacy :) My weekend was just like any other monday ;) Worked on Blades and started cutting some angle iron up for a new table closer to my forge. It will be a new home for my post vise and a heavy bench vise.Oh, and I shoveled snow too :grumpy:

Stacy,
Looks GREAT! Wish I could see the cherry burl better. Pics are pretty blurry.
I spent all weekend at the steel mill but hey.. Pays the bills.

Stacy you worked like a mad man on that store. Really looks good!
I forged 2 Moran ST-23 blades and made the guards and maple grips. Im getting excited about these.

Sat....glued up handle on Stick Tang.....temp outside was 71...cleaned up rode Harley till wee hours of the night

Sun, Temp started at 65...Called bros, rode over 250 miles
Sometimes I just gotta go

Today finish knife.....after work:D

I was all set up to do some heat treatment, but my wife declared Sat night "Date Night". That's a whole lot better than a few hours in the shop swearing at myself! :D Sunday, a project for my wife and 2 rounds of un-announced company ended my pipe dream of doing a little heat treating. Maybe this weekend. -Matt-

BTW Stacy, that store looks fantastic! You seem to be quite a handyman!

Worked on a couple of stag handled slipjoints, saw our best friend, saw her again, we took her ( she was widowed 12-15-2006) a couple of Gardenia plants today ( her favorite flower), worked on the 2 stag handled slipjoints again, got to spend some quality time with my Better Half, visited our best friend's Mom and then her sister and brother-in -law on Sat....also good wine and good pizza, and good non-wine higher proof beverage....

If I had had time, I'd have ridden my Honda Silver wing over to Mass, rode with IG 250 miles, then ridden back to Indiana...Sorry IG, Couldn'r resist being a bit of a "booger". Actually sounds like 250 miles of exceptional good times!

Good 3 days,

edited to add....saw Indiana University (my wife's and my alma mater) win a basketball game and our Indianapolis Colts win in a football game in Maryland....good weekend for sports. ...from a Hoosier point of view.....

 ....chewed the teeth off a new bandsaw blade pulling a stupid stunt. Now, looking for a good source of Jet H/V 64 1/2" blades.
