What did you do with your H.I. Blade today?

The kitchen is mostly clean and 2nd lunch is cooking on the stove, looks like I have some time now to head out side, make some Kindling and maybe do some chopping/brush work with my 16.5" WWII [my go to Khukri for general use]. Who else is using there H.I. Blades for something?

I used my lil BDC to open a package of cookies. Mundane and overkill, but effect:D

I used my small BDC to open the package i just got from Yangdu that had my new Balance :D

Gents, even if it was over kill, I bet it was fun! Using your blades and enjoying them is what it's all about. ;)

Last month I split a bunch of rounds into firewood. There was a lot of little pieces that are to small to be fire wood, but if they were split down, would make good Kindling. Most of these pieces looked like Wood Shingles. My 16.5" WWII made quick work of this:

Feel free to post pictures of your users, even if you didn't use them today. ;)

I've been tree trimming at work and bringing home dozens of large redwood saplings to make hiking sticks out of. I've been using my 17" Chitlangi to lop off the knobs where branches used to be and then switching to my YCS Karda for the stripping of the bark. Had the day off so that's what I spent 5 hours of daylight on yesterday. May sound boring to some, but I found it rather therapeutic and pleasing.

Nice pix, thank you for sharing

I make dollhouses. Just kidding. Nazis. I hates the Nazis. My WWII kukri hateses them too, and it's cooler than Indiana Jones's whip. Just kidding again. I spend about 2 hours a day staring at it, and that's about it. I did cut up a cardboard box once, but that was a mess, so I switched back to scissors. Are there kukri scissors in Nepal? ;)

Nice topic wildmanh and I like your Kukri handy work. Most of the Kukris I have bought so far are for historical reference (see picture below). I love history so those Khukuri treasures are not for use.

But I buy the Himalayan Imports Kukris for use in outdoor work. I think they excel at many tasks since they are the strongest built and many have pretty nice esthetics which is a nice bonus. Many knives have broken when they are stressed but I choose HI for their toughness. In the great Alaskan outback you don't need a broken Knife.

I haven't used my HI Sirupates recently because of weather and work, I use them mostly like you do splitting wood. My the HI Sirus seems to be one of the best Kukris for this task. Love it .

I killed me some pumpkins!

Left to Right:
BAS - GRS - KLVUK - Chirtlangi

BAS vs Pumpkin (Very clean thin cuts, easy to slice off bits with good control)

KLVUK vs Pumpkin (Nice clean cuts, almost as accurate as the BAS)

GRS vs Pumpkin (less accurate than smaller khukuri, but MUCH more damaging to pumpkin. )

Chitlangi vs Pumpkin (The game changed! The massive Chitlangi easily sliced clean through the largest pumpkin of the four. Zombie killer!!)

Trimmed some Maples, opened a few brews, thought of Uncle Bill and our veterans, sliced some ham.

17 3/4" WWII by Bura, wasp waisted as per Edutsi.

Be Well and Be Well Fed as Hobbits,

Well, I picked up my Ugly Villager and for the Nth time marveled at how comfortable this $45 knife feels in my hand. Thought about cutting up a hard dead lemon tree that's been lying around here for a year or so since I uprooted it. Changed my mind and put the UV away.

This evening I will unpack my new Rajkumar Bowie that is earmarked as a Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law. She has a large kitchen and likes to cook. Also, there are lots of coyotes around where she lives, and if they get too bold the RB might come in handy.

All in all, a good day.

Hello to all. Miss everyone. I've been off the Net since around the beginning of Summer. Just doin stuff and nuthin. Layin in the dirt as much as I can. I'm still the same. I fondle a HI blade everyday and sleep with one or more every night. Thats just me and a khukuri, no one else. I almost always remember to sheath it before going to sleep cuz I remember what happened when someone fell asleep sitting with a khukuri in hand. Y'all are the best.

Nice to see you guys again, Mark & Lee! We've missed you too.
Always good to see old friends. Don't be strangers now, ya hear?

Last weekend the family and I went to Texas for our oldest daughter's wedding. I made a gift of my Sher-built M43 to the newlyweds, as her husband is a big blade fan. I just got a picture from the "Tall Girl" of her husband sitting in his pajamas sharpening the M43 along with a note asking what kind of oil to put on the blade when he's done.

I guess I need to find a new kuk now...

Sounds as though a few of you have been having some fun with your H.I. Blades. Thanks for posting. Please keep it coming.

Today took a 7 mi. hike, carried my AK 15". About midpoint I used it to scrape some cedar bark & cut some twigs. Those & some milkweed down lit with a ferrosteel. Dowsed the fire & moved on.
Observed cardinals, gold finches, blue jays, boomer & gray squirrels. Saw deer & bobcat tracks but nothing standing them.

I cut the cheese today, when it got moldy. Yesterday I bit the muffin, but I didn't need any kookery for that.
