I post this every year, and am a bit later than usual, but-It's that time again:D

All right, I'm sure the coast is clear:rolleyes:
So....what knives did you get this year?

This year was slow for me, since our union went on strike, but I picked up my Rinaldi TTKK, a DDR CF ALB double grind proto, and ordered a Busse GrooveMaster (which came a week or two later) at Blade.
Also got a Spyderco Calypso Jr. lightweight, recently.

That's it for me. How about you?

Close to the end of the year, I went on a fixed blade binge with a concentration on Chris Reeve "one piece range". I bought a Dozier Freedom Fighter, Cold Steel R1 Military Classic, and three Chris Reeves, with another on backorder. Also, thanks to "Lagarto" in North Carolina who alerted me to it's sale on Ebay, I got an #5 Ek Commando Bowie I had been searching for since I was 16. It's sitting in the UPS depot as of Friday and I'll be there to pick it up on Monday.

I got a couple of SAK'S the fieldmaster and camper model.
For a birthday gift I recieved a Camp Tramp, and for Christmas my girlfriend gave me the Fehrman Final Judgement :D I cant say enough about the Final Judgement.

I got an ATC Brend Hawk, and I have a Busse, Mr. MoFo coming in soon that is part of the Christmas gift giving also!! :D
I now have a set of Guntings on the way also!!:D  :D

edited to add more incoming!

It was a SAK year for me:
Swiss-Tool RS
Soldier
Alox Classic
2-two blade Pioneers (one for a spare)
Pioneer with saw blade
Secretary
Money clip

My goal for the coming year will be fancier gents knives, mainly a CRK Mnandi and maybe a WH Lancet.

It was a great year! I had some personal challenges with more in store for 2003 but God has blessed me with the means to care for my family, meet my obligations, and still collect nice knives. I look forward to meeting my fellow BladeForums members at the Blade show in Atlanta this spring.

I'll just stick to the highlights:

First, I was on a tomahawk frenzy earlier this year so I got:
- ATC Rodgers' Rangers spike hawk. Very nice, currently doing fireaxe duty beside my bed.
- ATC/Brend hatchet. Cute little thrower.
- ATC/Hayes hawk. Awesome hawk featuring a prominently bearded blade. Surprisingly good for splitting watermelons and other large fruit.
- ATC Vietnam Tactical. This is a classic.
(Missing but not forgotten is the ATC Next Gen. This will be a 2003 project). I'm also interested in other tactical tomahawks, such as Hayes, and RMJ forge (if I can find one on the secondary market).

I also picked up my fixed blade collecting, especially near the end of the year:
- Ricky Fowler fixed blade (about 2" long) scored at Blade.
- Dozier neck knife (also from Blade).
- SOG X-42 Field Knife (Survival Sheath Systems made me a great sheath for it)
- Strider-MT
- Chris Reeve Project II. This is the knife that surprised me the most. I got it in a trade. It had been used and had a bit of "character". I was going to send it in to CRK and have it refinished but decided to use it in the meantime. That was a while ago. No thoughts about refinishing it now. This is now my main "BFK" and I will be adding plenty of "character" myself.
- A couple of very nice Busses (more info to follow)

I got into "Persian" blades in a big way. I have no idea why because they are completely impractical :D:
- Al Mar Shrike (G-G made me a very-very nice belt sheath for it).
- Emerson Collectors Association Tactical Folding Persian (THE SHARPEST OBJECT I HAVE EVER HANDLED).
- Allen Folts Tactical Persian (fixed blade). A work of art with a mirror finish blade.
(BTW I have a continuing interest in collecting Persian blades).

Finally, my favorite factory knife of 2002:
- Delta-Z Osprey with the Red Maple Burl handle. A bargain. Sharp, dressy, high quality.
(Other contenders were William Henry T10 Lancet, Al Mar SERE 2000).

Damn!! If you want to get scared, total up the cost of all those knives. I did that once. I won't ever do it again, and my collection has to be MUCH smaller than yours.

well I have rotated a couple knives this year and recieved some new ones.
I got my first custom back in march with the Bud nealy mini pesh and I wear my necker every day, love the thing. once i got that though I got bitten by the custom bug...
later in the year i traded away some items and picked up a mod razorback and a steve corkum necker.

for me, (a fresh in college) I am not doing bad at all. but i guess the most exciting thing for me is that in 2 weeks or so I will be recieving two elishiwitzes, a shadow and a specialized khan. I have been dreaming bout owning an elishiwitzs since i first played with them at 16 when I worked at a cutlery shop. and now I finally get to buy them. for 2003 I want to get rid of the razor back and replace it with a custom japanese style blade. I don't know if there will be anything else in 2003 i would like to pick up a rifle but we shall see. happy new year everyone
