I got a 9" horizontal variable speed disc sander......a variable temp. heat gun (140 degrees to 1000 degrees F), a flatter hammer off e-bay, a 4 lb. sledge off e-bay, a 2006 Daily Guidepost Devotional book, a cool powerful little flashlight, and some candy.....
Family was all here and well.......overall an EXCELLENT Christmas!:p

Too true,

I got a blade welder, now I just got to find bi metal bandsaw rolls. I won't have it finished this time in, but will be 90% done with a hydrolic forging press so I guess that counts too!

You cleaned up :D Is that helmet a hobart? Looks like one from the pic anyhow. Don't know if you've ever used one before but I think auto darkening helmets are about the best thing since sliced bread. Doubt I ever could have learned to weld without one, I hate doin the whole head flip thing. The hobart hood is a nice one too, very comfortable fit and nice and light weight.

It is a hobart. And auto darkening helmets are the sh*t. Makes is 10x easyer to weld. The old shield I was using had a really bad head band and whould slip all over the place. So this is going to make my life a lot easyer.

I got to spend a full day of quality time with my wife, son and daughter. We laughed, talked about Christmas's of past and the reason we're together. With all the everyday things we do throughout the year, it was great to have at least one day of togetherness.

I got Chris Marks to make up almost 100 inches of a special billet for me.(serious money) The three pieces will make a katana,a wakazashi,a tanto and a kozuka. They will be my big project for 2006.
Also got a bottle of 25 year old McAllan,a bottle of 18 year Glenfiddich,a 12 year Glenfiddich,...and a mystery bottle being sent to my home by courier today. The sender wanted to thank me for saving a $80,000 diamond sale for him (I did a last minute/emergency/rush rebuild on a platinum ring to fit in an 8 carat stone).Said he didn't want the bottle delivered to the store. I am very interested to see what it is!

I did pretty well. The biggest gift was that my son came over from Hawaii where he lives. HAving him around is great. Having him come into the shop for the first time and actually get into grinding his first knife was even better :)

Besides that, I got a small blast cabinet from Harbor Freight from my wife as well as a copy of Knives 2006 and Wayne Goddard's Wonder of Knife Making book.

I also treated myself to a new video card for the computer.

A good time was had by all.

The wife is giving me a new propane forge for our anniversary in a couple of days. I peeked. I couldn't help myself.:D
