There's a cure Swede. Start making Hawks, Hatchets, Canes and muzzleloaders.

Don't feel bad, they did it to me a few years ago too. Now I'm just no good for anything else.

Welcome to the club!

Now that you're hooked, the next tool will cost a lot more....... :D

It's a slippery slope... two years ago I was spending all my cash on knives. Now I'm spending it on shop equipment...

It's called B.A.D. or Blade Addictive Disorder. There is no known cure.

mmmaaahhhaaaahhaaa
we've hooked another one  LMAO :)
welcome aboard the knife bug wagon.. :D

Hi there Swede, my name is Darren and I am a knifemaking addict too. Welcome to the club! :D

As has been mentioned, there is no known cure, and medical science isn't working on one....fortunately for us! :)

Funny thing is..my buddies with the hunting lease got someone else in my place..my hog hunting buddies go anyway ..and now everyone seems to think i should give them a knife..go figure..well im off to my "shop" (for lack of a better word)

Once you are bitten the only way to get your fix is to make another blade.
Dam! Now you did it.
I got to go beat on some hot steel.
Welcome to the addiction.

I'd make them a real special knife....with Home Depot steel and I have a fossil whalebone that smells like every fish in the sea took a pi$$ on it, for the handle! :grumpy:

I work with addicts all week in my day job, and I'm starting to see some alarming parrallels. Its been about been about a week since my last blade, and I'm, really starting to jones for a fix. Getting depressed, irritable, a little edgy, having some cravings...... Put a new handle on a family heirloom cleaver for mom, but that only got me a couple hours of relief. I think I'd better smack some steel tomorrow so I can keep up appearances on Monday. It kind of damages your credibility as a counselor if you look worse than the folks you're trying to help.........

It's not an addiction! I can stop any time I want (Do it all the time)!!

The real buzz is in teaching a youngster how and watching his mama freak out.
('course if he lives close by, you'll have to get another anvil and hide your favorite tongs). >>For pics go to "other forum" and check out "Trackrock Hammer-in" under Georgia Custom Knifemakers section.<<

The song(s) in my head are "I want to be Seduced" - Leon Redbone followed by "Gee Whizz" - Burnadette Peters, then "Wonderland by Night" - coronet solo by somebody named James (I think).
