I have a knife for sale and I had a guy say that he would take the knife and he had sent an email. I never got anything from him and I sent him an email. Then another guy posted that he wanted seconds on the blade. I sent him a visitor's message and haven't heard back from either. Now I have a guy emailing me that he wants the knife but "can't" buy it because two others have posted they will take it. I have told him I haven't heard from either of those buyers but he claims I have to report those buyers before I can sell to him.

You can sell to WHOEVER you want. It would show a little respect to find out if the others are still interested or it may very well be a technical issue. But there is no rule saying you have to explain why you wont sell the knife to any certain person. Best to PM a mod and see if it is a technical issue though.

That's what I thought too. I have sent emails and left visitor messages but have not heard anything back yet.

Visitor messages always works, for both paid and unpaid members. I would send an email and post a visitor message. If no response within 24hrs I would move on to the next person. Prompt communication during sales is proper etiquette.

And this is pretty much what I've done. I've left visitor messages and sent emails. Thank you!

Personally for me, if I don't hear back from the person within an hour and somebody else is in line ready to make immediate payment..... I go by the saying, "You snooze, you lose". From personal experience selling on the exchange.... if a person is a serious buyer, they will communicate promptly, and send payment promptly. The few times it took the potential buyer over an hour to respond they either made up an excuse as to why they can't buy it, or I just don't hear back from them at all (bad form).

I would just send the non-responding guy an email to notify him that you are selling it to the next guy out of courtesy.

The problem is the guy next in line wouldn't buy since someone had " claimed" them and wanted me to turn them in before he would purchase. I messaged him what a mod told me which was I can sell to whomever I want and he states he just bought another knife.

From the way it sounds I don't think he was serious about the purchase. If I really wanted to buy a knife and a seller said, "I'll sell it to you"..... I'm not going to say, "oh no you can't do that".

This may be aimed at me; I sent two email and received no response, period. Much later received an email that did not include the sellers email adress. The way this is being stir-up confirms my suspicions.

Check your visitor messages and your for sale post clearly shows there was a problem. Enough said, get over it and move on.

I received no email from you; which I understand could be a forum problem. Here is the email that I sent you, you should have been able to reply to it.

And as far as the way this is being stired up; i'm a paying member here with positive feedback. The ONLY reason that this thread was started was because I had a buyer that would not proceed because of respect to the person that stated "I'll take it."

You cost me a sell. I am over it. This thread was started because another buyer was telling me that I could not sell the knife to whom I wanted not to stir up anything with you. If I wanted to stir things up, I would have called you out in the OP.

After all is said and done; I completely agree. In the moment I just thought he was a very respectful individual.
