Hello to all and Thank you for having a great active forum. I recently bought this nice little axe at a estate sale and I am wondering if anyone can tell me what I have! I like any old axe and buy them occasionally for personal use and the markings on this one are very intriguing. I assume that the 800 stamp indicates a weight of 800 grams and that leads me to believe that perhaps it is European? The Cross symbol and the Heart and Anchor marks I think are very cool and I hope can help tell the story of where this nice old axe was made and perhaps the age of it. Thank you all, Michael

No I can't see it. If you're using postimg, you have to click on the image and expand it before you drag it to your post, if that makes any sense.

When you click the image in your gallery to make it go full screen, right-click it, click 'copy image address'. Here in the text panel, click the image icon at the top, copy said link into the insert window. Insert.

I have no idea how that image got through to be able to be seen! A rather complicated way to attach an image, or perhaps more likely I am just rather old fashioned.

If I can figure out an easy way to post pics I certainly will! I am on a couple old car and old tractor forums and posting pics is very easy ?

You gentlemen are amazing. Thanks for all of your kindness and sharing your in depth knowledge to be able to pretty much pin point the area , year of manufactor and foundry it may have been produced along with the names associated with production! Thank you all, Michael
