I bought this knife thinking it was a Hiking Buddy. That's what the seller said it was. When I received it, it was obvious that it is something else.
I'm not sure, but it may be a Recluse. What do I have?

OAL is about 8 5/8" The blade is about 4 1/8" long, 1" wide and 1/8" thick.

Hello UffDa,

You have a Ladyfinger. And a nice one too!

Mark

Thanks for the replies. I already have a heavier Fiddleback Forge knife with a 4" blade. I wanted something shorter and lighter. This one is lighter, but not shorter. ;)

definitely lady finger. I hope you got it for hiking buddy prices. You might even want to consider offering up a trade in here.

Yep. That's a Ladyfinger. Indeed a hb's would be smaller. Post a trade req here. If that doesn't work before I get back home next week I'll trade it out with u. I'll give you proper credit for Ladyfinger dollar amount too.

Very nice of you Andy

Is it O1 Andy?

Andy, thank you. I don't usually post in these areas of the forum.

I posted it for sale yesterday, but no takers yet.

Anyway, I would trade for a similar Hiking Buddy. I would prefer Micarta scales. I am not fussy about the color as long as it's not garish like yellow, orange, bright green, etc.

There seller contacted me and is going to take the knife back. Thanks for the help.

By the way, I have to make a comment on Andy's knife handles. They are probably as comfortable and feel as good as any I have ever held. Much better than most.
Over the years I have owned many custom made knives and often wonder what the makers hand looks like. I think you know what I mean. ;)

Dang, I just saw this thread and was wondering if I had anything to trade that you'd like. The Ladyfinger is one of my grail knives. There are only a few knives that I want these days and an O1 Ladyfinger is at the top of my list. Canvas micarta with black pins and liners is a handle combo that I like. . Glad things are working out for you. . . . . I probably don't have enough trade fodder anyways. LOL!

I'm glad it worked out, and I really appreciate the handle comments!

Guess what.... I am the seller lol! Can you believe I messed that up! I love the Ladyfinger and all of Andys knives! I think I have had one of each now. I highly recommend Fiddleback Forge. I have beat, twisted, turned, pried, chopped, batoned, dropped and drug down the road several of his knives. They have held up strong, and sharpen razor sharp back very fast. I am Fiddleback for Life...

Ps sorry I said it was a hiking buddy...
