What do I need for the hurricane?

I live in Pinellas county and there is a mandatory evacuation. What kinds of gear do I need for this hurricane? Supplies? Thanks, I appreciate it.

If you're asking now, it's a little bit late. Publix has a pretty good hurricane guide, including lists of supplies and things to do for the house and boat. So do the TV station web sites.

Get out of there for one and take clothing, cash, medication, sleeping bag/blanket. We got pounded with heavy rains and tornado watches 4 hours ago and Bonnie is coming to our area around midnight. Charley is the next one on Friday. God be with you and keep your head. I think I'll have a beer Saturday night and I don't drink.

Where I'm from up North, mandatory evacuation means you have to leave, right?? Take the stuff you'll need to be gone a while; clothing, medicine, money, stuff like that. Don't forget to pack the stuff for baby/pet/etc, either, that's usually what gets left behind in a time of hurry. .
