What do I take?

Leaving for a major trade show in the AM. Which knife do I take?

I'm driving so the airline problems are not an issue this trip.

The question is about EDC, do I carry a Benchmade 941D2CF or a small plain Sebenza?

Both are great knives, but I'm not taking both to the show.

Which would you take?

I would take the Benchmade. The reason for this is that when travelling there is a chance of losing the knife and though I would hate to lose either knife, losing the Sebenza would make me feel way sorse.

I'd take the sebenza. I think the limited edition Benchmade would be harder to replace than the Sebenza!

don't take anything. Yes, you'll feel naked, but it will give you an excuse to pick up another knife at the show.

It's the Consumer Electronics Show. I'll be returning next Sunday, which is a few days before the Vegas Classic I think you're referring to. There's no knives to buy at the show I'm attending.

If I was insane and independantly wealthy, I'd have gone last week and spent New Years in Vegas with my Dad & step Mom, stayed to work through my show, then stayed for the Vegas Classic. I'm not sure I could survive a three week stay in Vegas, nevermind afford it.

Nice.
I couldn't come up with that one on my own,

Sorry, the question was just too hard for me, and it was the best I could come up with on short notice:p
Ok, I'd take the BM. I love the Sebenza, and actually prefer the frame lock, but Axis locks are fun to play with, and the 941D2CF definitely has the "cool factor" going for it (got to handle one at Blade, and I thought it was one of the slickest folders ever).
Great pair of knives you've got there.

Take the Benchmade. Better yet, buy a Benchmade 921 and take that.

:D

Seriously, why risk losing the more expensive piece?

I have been feeling guilty lately for carrying the 941D2CF so much and neglecting the lil Sebbie. It looked so sad when I looked in the safe this morning. I've been carrying the 941D2CF and the Socom Elite almost exclusively (not usually both) for the last couple months (since I got the 941D2CF). I thought for this adventure, I'd try to live with a totally reliable under 3" blade as I'll be in and out of Casinos and the Convention Center and the smaller blade shouild be less of an issue.

The BM is certainly one of the most useful and cool folders I've ever seen, and is certainly more impressive to non knife folks with the mirror polished blade and the carbon fiber handle, but I think the plain jane looks of the Sebbie will be a benefit.

I also think that the double step of the clip will give me a better chance of bringing the knife home, by keeping it clipped to my pocket. I'm pretty sure it was the sleek but slippery clip on my William Henry carbon lancet that caused me to leave it on the ground somewhere here in Las Vegas at this same show two years ago. Hopefully this year will be better on that front.
