What do I use to oil knives with traction coating?

Using cotton doesn't work because the traction coating just causes the cotton to pill and ends up with a lot of cotton fibers on the blade.

You would only have to oil the edge because the coating protects the rest of the blade. What kind of knife is it?
 
I couldn't stand the roughness of the coating on my Battle Rat so I smoothed it down with sandpaper. It's still there but looks and feels more attractive (to me anyway).
