What Do People Think of the Benchmade 720?

I have a Benchmade 720 Pardue Axis Lock on order (satin finish, plain edge), and I was just wondering what people think of this knife. I haven't seen too many opinions of it here on the forums.

I've found that I really like the Axis Lock on a daily carry knife. For whatever reason I just don't trust liner locks. Nothing scientific, it's just a "feeling" I get with them. Anyways with regards to the Axis Locks I've found that the 710 was too big for me, the 705 was too small, and the 730 just didn't feel right after carrying it for awhile. The 720 seems to have a blade length and style that suits my needs.

Anyhow, I just wanted to gather some opinions on the knife if you have any. Thanks.

I carry a 720 fairly frequently. I do like the blade shape but I had to thin out the edge some. I used a coarse waterstone so it only took about 10 minutes. I like the aluminum scales since they fit my hand well. Others do not care for aluminum scales at all. A matter of personal opinion. I think you will be pleased with the knife.

I like my 720 well enough. The aluminum handle seems a bit slippery compared to G10 but the knife fits my hand well and is very nicely constructed. I am anxious to see a 730 though or one of the 720s with G10 scales.

The 720 is one of my personal favorites. The blade length is long enough to get the job done, and the handle is solid. The blade shape has plenty of belly to cut stuff. Also, if one does not like the aluminum scales, the newer version "knife of the month" is made of G10. Not to mention, the Axis lock on mine is rock solid with NO play. Hope it stays that way! You will like this knife.

The 720 is a nice little knife. It is definitely better than the 730, which is too bulky and awkward for my arthritic hands. I must confess, however, that for strength, the REKATs seem to feel MUCH stronger. And Spydercos are MUCH better finished for the money. Of the Axis knives that I have seen, the 720 is best, however, and I have bought both the 720 and the 730.

I really like my 720. And I love its handle.
It is however, a bit on the heavy side.
The 720 would be a super knife if the handle was tapered a bit to shave some weight and if it had a better looking blade...IMO

I have been carrying a 720 for about 4 months now. I think it is a great knife. I use it every day and it is easy to sharpen. It is one of my favorites, behind my Microtechs. Everything is behind Microtechs.
