What do the do with the SpyderCoin ?

Hi,

I was thinking... Everytime they laser cut a spyder hole in the factory, they get a "Spyder Coin", right ? :D ...
What do the do with that ?
I know they probabily use them again for the steel, but...

There are some different sizes for the "coin".
With that we could invent our own Spyder money !!! Different sizes, different values.. Diferent Steels could mean something, too...

I'd love to have some S30v coins to engrave something... ;)

Interesting, I've never thought about that before. I'd like the "coin" from a Manix or Mili with the Spyder bug laser'ed on it. :D

I like that idea, a commemorative spyder stamped coin.
 
Any round cutout from the blade be engraved with the knife it came from and included with the knife. Only for sprint runs or special runs, I suppose...
 
I know someone at the other Spyderco Forum took a bag of those and distributed to all that wnated. I declined, as I didn't see the use of them but now I think I could try to remelt them and try to make sorta bubble damascus :eek:
 
I say call them "SpyderHoles" and include one with each knife as a promotional item. I think it would be neat just to show people. :thumbup:

If you wanted one, would the company send you one?
 
What do they call the round "Donut Hole Centers" from the Dunkin' Donuts Munchkins?

Yes, I know. I'm trying to create a demand. :D Although, I would like to see one included with every knife not just special runs. :thumbup:

I fully agree with this request! Please give us in future to all spydies the missing hole to the knive in the box

I never thought about what they did with the hole the cute out, what an interesting question! It would be cool to get ahold of a few of those, just cause it's neat:).

I read somewhere that if you go to the factory or visitor's center(?) sometimes they'll give 'em away. :confused:

As the proud owner of a few I have to say thanks to Jeff Smith (u812 on BF) who was kind enough to get a bag of them from Spyderco, clean them up, and distribute them.

Since they have sharp edges and little bits of metal hanging on, Spyderco would have to clean them up before enclosing them with a knife. I'd just as soon not have to pay the extra cost for one of these in each box - I'd rather put my money towards a whole knife rather than the waste parts (but maybe that's just me :confused: )

I used to be that whenever someone gave you a knife that you always gave them a coin or your friendship would be severed. Maybe they should stick one in each box they sell with a little logo of some sort like that "deer tick" they use.
